FAITH FORMATION FOR CHILDREN

Our children are our future.  With this truth in mind, our the Religious Education/Faith Formation program strives to teach the essential traditions and doctrines of the Catholic faith, and to journey with the children and their parents in their lifelong relationship with God.  We place a special emphasis on participation in the Mass and the need to care for and respect others.  Since parents are in integral part of this ministry,  they are also offered opportunities to deepen and strengthen their relationship with God.

Sacramental Preparation

Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation are two year programs.

Usually, the first grade year is the first year of sacramental preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist.  Usually, the second grade year is the second year of preparation.  However, there is no set grade limits for being prepared and ready to receive sacraments.

Reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation is usually at the end of the 10th grade year.  Preparation for Confirmation is a two year program beginning in the 9th grade.

Parent participation is required in the preparation for all three sacraments.
